Ajman Free Zone Services: Renewal, Visas, Amendments and Closing
We are an Ajman Free Zone channel partner. We file AFZ companies through our own agent account and look after them once they are set up: the licence renewal every year, visas for staff and families, changes to the shareholders or the manager, and closing the company.
Ajman Free Zone publishes a service card for each of these, with a starting price and the time it takes. Those are the figures on this page, beside what AFZ's FAQ adds; the final fee AFZ charges depends on the package and on what else is linked to the request.

Ajman Free Zone's Channel Partners Program signs its partners to an agreement after an application and an evaluation. We are one, as we are for RAKEZ and Ajman NuVentures: our partners page has all three. You can also do every one of these yourself on AFZ's customer portal or app; what we add is the order things have to happen in and documents in the form AFZ accepts the first time.
Ajman Free Zone licence renewal
AFZ's renewal card starts at about AED 4,879 and puts the delivery at 30 minutes once everything is in. The final fee depends on the package, the activities, the facility, the services linked to the renewal and anything still owed. AFZ's FAQ gives a grace period of one month after the licence expires; RAKEZ, by contrast, charges a late penalty from the expiry date.
AFZ starts it
The renewal is proactive: AFZ sends reminders where it can, and one request covers the licence and the establishment card, E-Channel, visa, insurance or amendment requests linked to it.
Anything owed is settled
Outstanding licence, lease, delay fine or facility amounts come first, with any approval a regulated activity or a physical location needs.
The documents, only where they apply
A good-standing certificate or licence for a branch, a no-objection letter for a regulated activity, a Civil Defence certificate for land, a warehouse or a car showroom, an Ajman Sewerage certificate for a warehouse.
Payment
By card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay, Tabby, Tamara, bank transfer, cheque or cash.
The renewed documents
The business licence, the commercial registry certificate and detailed registry, and the lease agreement, all electronic.
The establishment card is the one that catches companies out. AFZ's FAQ says to renew it two months before it expires, and that its expiry date has nothing to do with the licence's. A renewal can be refused for four reasons: an expired E-Channel registration, fines piling up, an expired licence, or a licence not updated in ICP's system. AFZ's cards: the establishment card renewal from AED 750 and the E-Channel renewal from AED 1,200 a year, each in 8 hours.
One more date to keep: AFZ wants each month's payroll uploaded to the wages protection system by the 15th. A month late and the company is suspended from all services and fined; two months, and AFZ adds legal action.
Ajman Free Zone visa services and fees
Visas go through the same portal, and someone in the UAE on a visit or tourist visa can switch to an AFZ residence visa without leaving the country. These are AFZ's starting prices and times, from its service cards:

A renewal needs the company and its immigration registrations valid, and the holder able to do the medical, the Emirates ID and the insurance. AFZ's FAQ adds that a visa which expires while its holder is abroad can't be renewed: the holder comes back on a visit visa and the company applies for a new one, or it cancels the old one. An entry permit that was never used can be cancelled, but its fees aren't refunded and it can't be passed to another employee. For what happens after a cancellation, see visa cancellation in the UAE.
On an investor's entry permit, AFZ's FAQ says the salary entered can be any amount above AED 10,000.
Family visas in Ajman Free Zone
An employee sponsoring a spouse or children needs a salary of at least AED 4,500 a month, by AFZ's FAQ, which lists the documents: a lease contract certified by the Department of Economy (Municipality), an electricity bill as proof of residence, a salary certificate issued by the free zone, the marriage and birth certificates attested by the UAE embassy in the home country and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the UAE with a legal translation, and passport, residence and Emirates ID copies. Health insurance is compulsory for family visas in Ajman; AFZ's policies start at AED 233.
A female investor can sponsor her family too. On a smart office or business centre, AFZ's FAQ asks for a AED 20,000 guarantee in the free zone and a AED 3,000 guarantee with the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship for each person; on a normal office, no AFZ guarantee. Closing an Ajman Free Zone company
Cancel every visa
From AED 750 each on AFZ's card, in about 4 hours.
Cancel the establishment card
Only once no visas are left under it; from AED 335.
Cancel the licence
A request on the portal; AFZ's FAQ puts the cancellation fee at AED 2,500. The company cancellation report is the final clearance.
Claim the refunds
A signed and stamped request letter with the cancellation certificate brings back the E-Channel, office and visa guarantees within 10 to 15 working days. Rent already paid for a location that was used is not refunded.
A company that only wants to stop sponsoring people doesn't have to close: AFZ lets it keep the licence after cancelling every visa and the establishment card.
