RAKEZ renewals

RAKEZ Licence Renewal: Cost, Late Penalties and Steps

A RAKEZ licence lasts a year and renews on Portal 360. On RAKEZ's all-inclusive package the renewal costs the same as year one, AED 14,000, which RAKEZ guarantees. On its other packages the fee depends on the type of company, so RAKEZ emails each company its own quote about 60 days before the licence expires. Renew late and RAKEZ charges AED 50 for every day after the expiry date.

We renew RAKEZ licences as a RAKEZ channel partner: the licence, the immigration file, E-Channel and any visas falling due, in one pass. This page puts everything RAKEZ publishes about renewal in one place.

  • All-inclusive package renewal

    AED 14,000

RAKEZ guarantees the same price as year one, with one residence visa

  • Employee visa renewal

  • Amendment at renewal

These are RAKEZ's own figures, from its pages. Our fee for filing the renewal comes as a separate figure, in writing, before you pay.

What a RAKEZ licence renewal costs

RAKEZ's all-inclusive package, AED 14,000 a year with one residence visa, up to 10 activities and up to 50 shareholders, renews at AED 14,000: "same renewal price guaranteed", in RAKEZ's words. For the Basic package (AED 6,000) and the Lite package (AED 12,000), RAKEZ says only that the renewal fee varies with the type of business entity.

So for most companies the real number is the quote. RAKEZ emails it to the company's registered address about 60 days before expiry; it cannot be produced earlier than two months out, and RAKEZ's customer service will resend it if it went astray. RAKEZ's own renewal card says the price depends on the licence type, the activities and the facility, so a company that moved from a desk to a warehouse should expect a different figure from last year's.

Two ways to pay less over time are on RAKEZ's own pages. Commercial, service, general trading, professional and e-commerce licences can be issued and renewed for three years at discounted rates, on RAKEZ's terms, and the all-inclusive package has multi-year options. RAKEZ's offers page, read on 4 November 2026, lists no other renewal offer.

How a RAKEZ renewal runs

  1. The quote arrives

About 60 days before expiry, by email. Check it against what the company now has: the facility, the activities, the immigration file.

  2. The documents on file are checked

RAKEZ asks for passport copies only where the ones it holds have expired, two signed copies of the lease for an office, warehouse or land, and any approval the activity needs from another authority. A company that owns shares sends its licence, or a notarised certificate of good standing if it is registered abroad.

  3. The request and the payment go in

On Portal 360 or RAKEZ's mobile app, by the owner, a shareholder, the manager or a representative. RAKEZ's renewal guide says documents in another language need a certified Arabic translation.

  4. RAKEZ renews the licence

Instantly once everything is in order, its renewal card says; within a few working days, says its licence FAQ.

  5. The new documents come through

The renewed e-licence and, where the company has them, the immigration file card and the Chamber of Commerce certificate.

Two things are easier than people expect. RAKEZ does not ask for audited accounts at renewal, and the renewal runs online: RAKEZ calls it a fully digital process.

Renewing late: the penalty and the deadline

There is no grace period on the licence. RAKEZ charges AED 50 a day from the licence expiry date, and the immigration file, the Chamber of Commerce membership and, where there is one, the RAK DED licence add fines of their own. Among them, ICP fines an establishment card renewed more than 30 days late AED 100 a month, up to AED 1,000.

The deadline that matters most is six months. RAKEZ can strike a company off when its licence has gone six months without renewal, or when a fee or penalty is still unpaid 30 days after RAKEZ asked for it. A struck-off company has two years from the strike-off to apply to restore its legal status and renew, and RAKEZ decides.

A lapsed licence holds up the visas too. RAKEZ's renewal guide says every immigration service needs the E-Channel registration renewed first, and its cancellation terms want the licence and the immigration file valid, so renew before filing any visa work.

Changes to make at renewal time

Some changes only fit the renewal window. RAKEZ's renewal guide says it accepts a change of licence type or activity, adding a new licence, cancelling an additional one, and moving to a bigger or smaller facility only in the 60 days before the licence expires. Plan them with the quote, not after it.

Every other amendment and its fee is on our page of RAKEZ services, from a trade name change to a new manager.

Activities: add, remove or replace5 to 7 working daysAED 1,999, 30% off a second amendment

Desk or office change, co-working1 to 2 working daysAED 1,000, plus any difference in price
An additional licenceEvery yearAs per the licence type, charged yearly

Visas and Emirates IDs in the same year

Visas renew on their own dates, not with the licence, so it pays to line them up with it. These are RAKEZ's own renewal fees:

Visa renewalTimeRAKEZ's fee
Employee4 working days; VIP 1AED 3,500; VIP AED 6,414
Investor or partner4 working days; VIP 1AED 3,535; VIP AED 6,449
Spouse or child over 185 working daysAED 1,705
Child under 185 working daysAED 1,405

A visa renewal is filed with the holder inside the UAE, and for family visas the sponsor as well. An employee's renewal comes with Workers Protection Insurance (WPI), which RAKEZ adds automatically; immigration wants health insurance from an approved provider; and the medical is at RAKEZ's Medical Fitness Centre or any UAE-approved centre. The Emirates ID renews with the visa: RAKEZ's visa advisory gives it 30 days after expiry, then ICP fines AED 20 a day, up to AED 1,000.

Renewing through a RAKEZ partner

RAKEZ takes a renewal from the owner, a shareholder, the manager or a representative, and as a RAKEZ channel partner we file requests with RAKEZ every week. What we do: keep the expiry date, check RAKEZ's quote against what the company actually has, renew the immigration file and E-Channel with the licence, line up the visas due the same year, and file the lot on Portal 360.

If your licence came through us, you get the renewal figure in writing before anything is paid. If another agent set up your RAKEZ company, you can still renew through us. On each visa, our charges for typing (AED 200), WPI (AED 300) and health insurance (from AED 500) are the same as on our packages. If you are still choosing a zone, our RAKEZ free zone page has the packages, and free zone renewal costs compares RAKEZ with the other zones.
