SwiftHub is a RAKEZ channel partner. We set up companies in RAKEZ, the Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone, and then look after them: the licence renewal every year, visas for owners, staff and families, changes to the licence or the shareholders, letters, and closing the company when the time comes.

RAKEZ runs almost all of it through Portal 360, its online system, and publishes its own fee for each service. This page gives those fees as RAKEZ prints them, next to what we charge for our part, so you can see which money goes to RAKEZ and which comes to us.

  • New family visa

    AED 3,375

    A spouse or a child over 18; AED 3,075 for a child under 18

  • Employee visa renewal

    AED 3,500

RAKEZ's standard renewal, four working days; AED 6,414 for its VIP renewal in one

  • Licence amendment

    AED 1,999

Activities, trade name, capital or officers; RAKEZ takes 30% off a second one

  • Licence cancellation

    AED 3,000

A company on a desk or in an office; AED 4,500 with a warehouse or land

These are RAKEZ's own fees, as its service pages print them. Our fee for the work comes as a separate figure, in writing, before you pay.

Every RAKEZ service we handle

From the first licence to closing the company, these are the RAKEZ PRO services we file for our clients:

  • New companies. A RAKEZ licence with one, four or eight residence visas, from AED 6,499.
  • Licence renewal. Every year, with the immigration file and E-Channel renewed in the same pass.
  • Visas. New, renewed, amended and cancelled visas for owners, partners and staff.
  • Family visas. A spouse, children and a newborn, sponsored on your RAKEZ visa.
  • Amendments. Activities, trade name, shareholders, share capital, managers and signatories.
  • Letters. Salary certificates, and RAKEZ's official letters and NOCs for other authorities.
  • Corporate tax and VAT. Registration with the Federal Tax Authority; every company needs corporate tax.
  • A bank account. The file prepared and introduced to a UAE bank, once the licence is out.
  • Closing the company. Visa cancellations, the de-registration, and a liquidator when one is needed.

RAKEZ's channel partner scheme is for corporate service providers that set companies up for their clients, and RAKEZ's own page lists an account manager and an agent portal among what partners get. For you it means the request goes in through RAKEZ's own system, filed by people who file these every week. We are channel partners of Ajman Free Zone and Ajman NuVentures too: our partners page has all three.

You can do every one of these yourself on Portal 360; RAKEZ built it for that. What a partner adds is the order things have to happen in, documents in the form RAKEZ accepts the first time, and someone watching the dates. When a renewal, two visas and an amendment fall due in the same month, the order is most of the work.

Our own fees for the work that sits next to RAKEZ's:

RAKEZ licence renewal

A RAKEZ licence renews every year on Portal 360. RAKEZ's all-inclusive package renews at the same AED 14,000 as year one; the other packages get a quote about 60 days before expiry, and a late renewal costs AED 50 a day from the expiry date. The costs, the steps, the documents and what happens after six months unrenewed are on our page of RAKEZ licence renewal.

We renew the immigration file and E-Channel in the same pass, and if another agent set up your RAKEZ company, you can still renew through us.

RAKEZ visa services and fees

RAKEZ sponsors its companies' visas and files them with immigration itself. A partner prepares the request on Portal 360, books the medical and follows it to the end. These are RAKEZ's own fees and times:

Visa serviceTimeRAKEZ's fee
New investor or partner visa, applicant outside the UAE9 business daysAED 4,520
New employee visa, applicant outside the UAE9 business daysAED 3,800
Investor or partner visa renewal4 working days; VIP 1AED 3,535; VIP AED 6,449
Employee visa renewal4 working days; VIP 1AED 3,500; VIP AED 6,414

Employee visa cancellation, holder in the UAE4 working daysAED 385
Employee visa cancellation, holder abroad4 working daysAED 770
Investor or partner visa cancellation, holder in the UAE4 working daysAED 685
Investor or partner visa cancellation, holder abroad4 working daysAED 1,070

A new visa costs more when the applicant is already inside the UAE, and RAKEZ adds VAT to its visa fees. Every new visa and renewal comes with Workers Protection Insurance (WPI), which RAKEZ adds automatically. Immigration also wants health insurance from an approved provider: RAKEZ sells plans through RAK Insurance, or you bring your own. The medical test is at RAKEZ's Medical Fitness Centre or any UAE-approved centre.

On our packages, health insurance from AED 500, WPI at AED 300 and visa typing at AED 200 are charged for each visa.

Three rules catch people out. A renewal is filed with the visa holder inside the UAE. An amendment needs at least seven working days left on the visa. And after a cancellation the holder has to leave the country or move to a new visa before the grace period ends, or penalties follow.

The Emirates ID renews with the visa. RAKEZ's visa advisory gives it 30 days after expiry; after that ICP fines AED 20 a day, up to AED 1,000. An owner with no visa under the company can still apply for a RAKEZ ID card. For what happens after a cancellation, from the grace period to the fines, see visa cancellation in the UAE.

Family visas on a RAKEZ visa

A RAKEZ visa holder sponsors family through RAKEZ, on the same portal. RAKEZ wants a salary of at least AED 4,000 a month, or AED 3,000 with company accommodation, and the sponsor inside the UAE when the application goes in. A new family visa takes nine working days and a renewal five.

Family visaRAKEZ's fee
New visa, spouse or child over 18AED 3,375
New visa, child under 18AED 3,075
Baby born in the UAEAED 1,505
Renewal, spouse or child over 18AED 1,705
Renewal, child under 18AED 1,405
Cancellation, holder in the UAEAED 385

An investor or partner who sponsors family also leaves a deposit of AED 3,310 for each dependent, which RAKEZ refunds on its refund request form. Expect to need the marriage and birth certificates attested up to the UAE embassy and translated into Arabic, a tenancy contract or property in the sponsor's name, and health insurance for each person. A baby born in the UAE who has not left the country goes straight to a residence visa and Emirates ID, with no entry permit or medical.

To cancel a family visa, the company's licence, immigration file and E-Channel registration must be valid, with nothing owed to RAKEZ, and RAKEZ adds late penalties if the visa has already expired. The wider rules are in family sponsorship after setup.

Company amendments and RAKEZ's fees

Changing anything on the licence goes through RAKEZ as an amendment, and most cost the same: AED 1,999 each, with 30% off a second. A shareholder change costs AED 4,000, with the immigration file amendment and the pre-approval included.

AmendmentTimeRAKEZ's fee
Activities: add, remove or replace5 to 7 working daysAED 1,999
Trade name7 to 10 working days, with 3 days of newspaper noticeAED 1,999, plus AED 500 for the chamber certificate
Shareholders: add or remove8 to 10 working daysAED 4,000
Share capital, increase5 to 7 working daysAED 1,999
Share capital, decrease35 to 40 working days, with newspaper noticeAED 1,999
Manager, directors, signatories or POA holder5 to 7 working daysAED 1,999
Financial year3 to 5 working daysAED 1,999
Contact details (KYC update)3 to 5 working daysAED 1,999
Desk or office change, co-working1 to 2 working daysAED 1,000, plus any difference in price

An activity outside your package's bundle is charged every year on top: AED 1,000 for a standard one, AED 5,000 for a special one.

Every amendment starts with a resolution signed by all the shareholders. Someone signing for a shareholder needs a power of attorney notarised in the UAE, or notarised and legalised up to the UAE embassy where it was signed, and a company that holds shares sends its own attested resolution. In a shareholder change, the outgoing partner's visa is cancelled before the amended licence is issued, and a new shareholder on an employee or family visa needs a no-objection letter from their sponsor.

We draft the resolution, get it signed in a form RAKEZ accepts, file the amendment and see it through to the new documents.

Closing a RAKEZ company

Closing a RAKEZ company is a de-registration. RAKEZ charges AED 3,000 for a company on a desk or in an office and AED 4,500 for one with a warehouse or land, plus outside fees such as immigration and the Chamber of Commerce, and processes it in five working days once everything is in.

  1. Cancel the staff visas. Every employee visa goes first. The owners', partners' and manager's visas are cancelled during the de-registration itself.
  2. Liquidate, if the company needs it. RAKEZ does not liquidate companies: an approved liquidator does the audit, the reports and a 45-day notice in two newspapers, one English and one Arabic.
  3. File the de-registration. On Portal 360, with the shareholders' resolution, the manager's resignation letter confirming they were paid, and the liquidator's documents where there is one.
  4. Pay and collect the certificate. RAKEZ emails the invoice; once it is paid, RAKEZ issues the cancellation certificate.

RAKEZ's de-registration card for a co-working company lists a 14-day newspaper notice rather than the liquidator's 45 days. A company with a warehouse or land also needs clearances first, among them RAK Customs, the Public Services Department, the electricity and water provider and Civil Defence.
